Frequently Asked Questions

Clothing Fit / Sizing

Please reach out for questions regarding fit. The most accurate way to determine fit is by checking the measurements. I recommend comparing the garment's measurements with your own as well as with the measurements of a similar piece of clothing you already own.

Clothing Measurement Guide

Measurements are listed in full. They are taken with the garment lying flat, from seam to seam, and then doubled for circumference where appropriate.

+ Chest: across armpit to armpit seam
+ Waist: across smallest part of waist or across back waistband
+ Hips: across fullest part of hips (8-10" below waist)
+ Shoulders: one shoulder seam to the other
+ Sleeve: top shoulder seam to cuff
+ Length: top of garment to hem at longest point
+ Rise: center crotch seam to top of front waistband
+ Inseam: center crotch seam to hem
+ Thigh: across thigh just below crotch

+ Base Length: edge of heel to tip of toe
+ Base Width: Widest part of base of shoe
+ Heel: bottom to top
+ Boot Height: top of heel -> top of ankle

I recommend hand washing for the non-denim, non-military items. The majority of pieces can be washed and dried normally. I would avoid using bleach on the Victorian pieces at is will compromise the fabric in some cases.

Rawson Studio is no doubt an adept dyer. They achieved a beautiful deep warm brown for this shirt that is even more lovely in person than pictured. The proportions of the shirt - which I understand to be from a vintage stock - are odd due purely to the disproportionate width of the armholes, which are very small. The seller did a good job describing this fit and I purchased with this in mind. On my petite frame (24" waists, 30" rib cage) the shirt is tight in the pits, fitted through the chest, and relaxed down from the waist.
